Ettinger sentenced to jail time and two years probation on drug charges

HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - A drug case sentencing took place Friday in Houghton County Circuit Court.

19-year-old Jon David Ettinger from Grand Rapids was sentenced to 3 months in jail with credit for 38 days. He will serve two years’ probation under HYTA.

Ettinger pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of marijuana. In exchange, two drug counts were dismissed along with a misdemeanor count of trespassing that took place on Michigan Tech’s campus.

Ettinger was arrested by UPSET-West on February 2. After a month long investigation, detectives obtained information that Ettinger was selling marijuana, acid, and prescription medication in Houghton County. They executed two search warrants in the city and seized marijuana packaged for distribution, along with prescriptions suspected of being altered with acid.
