Escape Marquette opens zombie apocalypse themed escape room

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - With Halloween on the way, Escape Marquette is opening a brand new escape room. It's called "Escape the Undead."

Participants work together to solve a series of challenging riddles to cure a zombie infestation under a certain time limit. “Escape the Undead” is open for a limited time and a shorter version of the room will be open at this year's Marquette Haunted Hayride. Escape Marquette is located in downtown Marquette in the lower level of the Masonic Center.

Owner Anna Hemstock says the new room is not for the faint of heart.

“In this game, you are trying to survive the zombie apocalypse,” said Hemstock. “You enter a bunker where the last known scientist working on the cure was located. Once you get inside, you realize you're not alone. You only have 30 minutes to escape or 10 minutes depending if you're at the [Marquette] Haunted Hayride.”

Tickets are $17 each for the Undead game at Escape Marquette and $7 each for the shorter Marquette Haunted Hayride game. The Undead will be available to play throughout October. To schedule a game, visit their website at or call 906-273-2410.
