ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - After putting in his 60 day notice, Escanaba city manager Patrick Jordan has decided to stay on the job.

The surprise decision came on Monday, following consideration with his family. They had planned to move to Florida, where Jordan would be taking a similar position.

Part of what encouraged him to stay in the area revolved around remaining close to family. He is originally from downstate Muskegon, and a large part of his family remains in the area.

Jordan says he also wants to keep Escanaba moving in the right direction.

"My staff, my department heads, are great to work with, we are really heading in the right direction, some good things are happening. It was difficult to walk away from that, and so in the end we decided to say," said Patrick Jordan, Escanaba City Manager.

Jordan is most excited about revitalizing Escanaba’s downtown area, which includes the construction of a new commercial space.
