CALUMET, Mich. (WLUC) - Calumet Theatre’s “Lift us Up” Elevator Project is complete. The theatre company held a ribbon cutting Tuesday marking their largest improvement to the theater.

Community members viewed and rode the elevator to the Red Jacket Ballroom for refreshments and snacks. The elevator project began in 2013.

“Oh, it's so exciting. This is just going to be a big boost for the use of the entire building. We are so excited about this and all of the donors that made it happen. We're so grateful. Our goal was $300,000 and we reached that in July of 2016. Hope people enjoy the new elevator," said Laura Miller, executive director for the Calumet Theatre.

Representatives from the Theatre Company, Calumet Village, the Keweenaw National Historical Park and more were present.
