The blustery weather didn't stop dozens of people from supporting the scientific community. People hit Third Street in Marquette for the second annual March For Science Saturday morning.

March For Science is a NMU student organization. They're raising awareness for the scientific community. They want people to know how policies lawmakers pass can negatively or positively affect the resources available for scientists to continue their research.

"They won't have the resources to get out there find true facts which have been processed, proven and backed up through the entire scientific method, forced entries and they won't have continually added knowledge," said Holly Roth, organizer.

The march started at the Barry Events Center and ended at the Marquette Commons with a rally. Afterward, local experts talked about carbon cycling, environmental justice, local renewables, and indigenous rights.
