MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A food delivery service plans to serve the Marquette area starting next week.
A spokesperson for DoorDash says the service will launch Wednesday, April 17. It will start by offering delivery of national partners, including Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings and Wendy's.
"Our initial service will primarily be in the Marquette metro area," said the spokesperson in an email. "We look forward to expanding to Negaunee and Ishpeming in the near future, but they will not be immediately served. Additional Michigan expansions that will launch in the coming weeks include Port Huron, Mt. Pleasant, Traverse City, Adrian, Tecumseh and Fenton."
When you place a mobile or web order with DoorDash, the service sends it to the restaurant and connects you with a Dasher to pick up the order to bring it to you.
Dashers can work on their own schedule. The service says it's actively onboarding new Dashers to support the restaurant demand, and they can sign up at www.doordash.com/dasher/signup/.
DoorDash announced earlier this year that it would expand to operate in all 50 U.S. states, and in more than 3,300 cities across North America.
