Delta County, Mich. (WLUC) - After a successful safety inspection and just under a year of service, Delta County Airport Manager Jeffrey Sierpen announced his resignation Friday.
Sierpen, who was hired as airport manager in the fall of 2018, stated that he has “nothing but great things to say about the airport and the staff”.
He submitted his resignation in July, but he wanted to stay through the FAA safety inspection that the airport underwent in September.
He cited the reason for his resignation as “an opportunity for him and his family” that he would like to keep private at this time.
Sierpen was pleased with the inspection’s results, which cited the airport’s “vast improvements from last year”.
He will be staying on until November, assisting the airport in making the minor changes recommended by the inspection.
