L'ANSE, Mich. (WLUC) - People gathered at the L’Anse Waterfront Park on Thursday to enjoy some free music as a part of the L’Anse Downtown Development Authority’s summer concert series.
Thursday’s “Day of Music” concert featured four different acts: the Thornapple Jazz Orchestra, Jan Arnold, Greenstone, and UP Gumbo.
The Thornapple Jazz Orchestra, from Hastings, Mich., opened the show. They are currently on a week-long tour of the U.P.
Orchestra Director, Joe LaJoye, said the group enjoys doing shows like this.
“We like to keep the message of jazz alive. Secondly, our group is all about adults having a chance to play for life after high school. So, we just spread the love,” LaJoye said.
LaJoye added that the group has a few more stops in the U.P., and that they plan on ending their tour in Chicago.
