IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - The Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency hosted their sixth annual Frosty 5K and fun run Saturday.
More than 200 people came out to participate in the event. Racers had the choice of the competitive 5K or the one mile run or walk route.
It cost $25 to participate in the 5K and $15 for the mile. Everyone in the race received a t-shirt to commemorate the event. All proceeds go to support DICSA's walk for warmth fundraiser.
“All the proceeds go to Dickinson County to low income seniors and families that are in distress during the winter time. We can help them with their heating costs, any kind of emergencies. That's what the money goes towards,” said Dana Waara, DICSA Outreach Director
This run raises more than $10,000 each year for those in need.
