DCHS hosts monthly public board meeting

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - A timeline is starting to form for the Dickinson County Healthcare System restructuring. Venable Lawyer Bart Stupak updated the public Thursday on where the hospital stands in a monthly board meeting.

He says they are working with the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program on taking out a loan. This process is taking a little longer than originally expected, but he says it's still moving smoothly.

"We've got a good understanding that we are looking somewhere between $30 million, $35 million maybe even a little more,” Stupak said. “As we dug into the finances of Dickinson County Healthcare System, again they're not bad, but there's one or two items that have popped up that we were not aware of initially."

Stupak said if things go as planned, he expects this process to be done by June at the latest.
