ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - The Bark River-Harris Schools are currently under construction new classrooms and facilities taking shape.
The school's planned renovations starting last month.
The walls and structures for four new classrooms are clearly visible.
The new rooms will house the school's child development program for pre-kindergarteners.
The school is also adding a new cafeteria, kitchen, and bus garage.
Superintendent Jason Lockwood says it's great to live in a community that cares so much about its school.
"It feels great to be supported. There's a very strong sense of community with this school district, there always has been. It feels very good to work in that kind of environment," said Lockwood.
The construction is expected to last through the next school year, with a move-in date around the fall of 2021.
