MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Congressional candidate Linda O'Dell addressed a crowd on the steps of the Peter White Public Library on Thursday.
O'Dell is a candidate in the Democratic Primary, running for U.S. Congress in Michigan's 1st Congressional District.
After making the drive from Petoskey, O'Dell met with the Marquette County Democratic Party following her speech.
O'Dell says this is the fifth time she's been to the Upper Peninsula since filing for candidacy in August.
"I intend to be up here often," O'Dell says. "That's the number one thing."
"Even the fact that we had this big storm out here, I think that's a wonderful way to come and bring the message that we are here, we're fired up, we're ready to go with this campaign," O'Dell continued.
Some of the many points touched on at the short speech included health care, the economy, and protecting the integrity of our climate and the Great Lakes.
