MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Seventh Annual ‘Run For Life’ kicked off Saturday in Marquette.
This event is held to celebrate life and promote organ donation.
There also was a kid’s fun run in honor of Cody Revord, who helped save two lives when his family donated his organs after he died from a tragic accident.
“There are people who are walking in honor of a loved one, who have received a kidney or a liver or they’re walking themselves, so it’s a good way to bring people together to talk about their stories,” said Amy Harju, ‘Run For Life’ Race Organizer.
All proceeds from Saturday’s event will support organ transplant recipients and potential donors throughout the Upper Peninsula.
Organizers again thank the community for helping their cause.
