ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - The streets were lined with onlookers Friday night as the annual Christmas Parade made its way through downtown Ishpeming.
14 floats, five firetrucks, even Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus made up the parade, which ran from the Pioneer Bluff Apartments down to the Iron Range Agency.
Onlookers saw floats from all different organizations, like Girl Scouts of America and the Ishpeming Ski Club.
Once the parade was done, spectators gathered as the tree next to Iron Range Agency was lit.
"This tradition has been going on for years. I know I brought my own daughter here so I know it's been going on for well over 25 years," says Tracy Magnuson, President of Ishpeming Community Events. "I just think it's a great opportunity for the kids to come out, see the parade, be involved in the parade and get to see Santa."
Once the parade and tree-lighting had come to an end, the newly built Santa's House was revealed.
