ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - The UPHS-Bell Hospital Auxiliary held their annual Christmas Open House at the hospital's gift shop on Sunday.
The new Christmas merchandise was on display, ranging from ornaments and lights to scarves and jewelry.
The auxiliary celebrated the open house by having a sale on clothing and other merchandise.
UPHS-Bell Volunteer Services Coordinator and Auxiliary Liaison, Julie Solka, said the hospital's gift shop is a great place to find the perfect gift because shopping there also helps out the community.
"When you're purchasing a gift here, it's a win-win. You're purchasing something for someone or for yourself, and you're also donating to your community because all monies earned here go back out to the community,” Solka said.
Solka added that the auxiliary has raised more than $240,000 since its inception, and that all of that money has gone back into the community to help others.
