MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Press release from Chocolay Raptor Center:

Harry Potter fans take note!! This is your chance to see a live snowy owl up close and personal.

On Sunday, December 9, 2018, we will release a rehabbed snowy owl. The release will be at the north side of the Superior Dome on NMU’s campus in Marquette at 2:00PM.

All are welcome with cameras and kids. The owl banged itself into a house in Big Bay, probably chasing one of the herd of rabbits there. He (we think it’s a he) bruised a wing joint, but no permanent damage. After a week of rest and recuperation, he is in the large flight cage, flying strong and sticking his landings. After a few more days of conditioning, he should be ready to go back to the Wild where he belongs.
