Chippewa County Sheriff's Office searching for man who cut his tether

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who is believed to have cut his tether.

Jeremy Ross Marjamaa had been arrested on meth related charges and forgery among other things.

During his court proceedings, the court allowed Marjamaa to be released on tether.

On Sunday, July 7, Marjamaa cut his tether and fled the area.

It was reported that an older couple picked him up. It is unknown at this time if the couple knowingly assisted in his escape.

Marjamaa is from the west end of the Upper Peninsula and may be headed that way.
