Child entrepreneurs wanted by the UP Children's Museum

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The UP Children's Museum is looking for it's next group of kid entrepreneurs.

Interested child entrepreneurs will work with staff to develop a product idea and then bring it to life. Then, they can sell it in the 'Kid Bizness' section of the museum store.

Children will reach an agreement with the museum about who gets what portion of the profits, but the program itself is free to join.

Some past work sold in the store include adoptable pet rocks, scarves, and art.

"I think the time is right, we've got economic strains all over the place. We've got restrictions on our individuality, I think children are just at the right time now where they can prove that they have great ideas on their own and that they can make those ideas work," says education coordinator Jim Edwards.

Interested entrepreneurs should contact Mr. Jim at, or call the museum at 906-226-3911.

Mr. Jim says he'd like every child entrepreneur to become a millionaire.
