MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Upper Peninsula Children's Museum held their annual Celebrity Art Auction Thursday night.
About 30 celebrities put on their artists hats to help raise money for the Children's Museum's annual campaign. Even TV6 and FOX UP's own Sarah Blakely had some artistic cookies up for auction.
Museum staff say it's always a great night to get folks together for a good cause.
"An annual campaign is absolutely critical to covering just the basic expenses that we incur and so events like this make the giving more fun and it makes it more fun for us and people feel good when they can help," said Nheena Weyer-Ittner, Executive Director for the UPCM.
This was the 15th year for the Celebrity Art Auction. On average the event brings in about $15,000 for the Children's Museum.
According to a message from Weyer-Ittner, this year's auction raised more than $20,000.
