Celebrating Pi Day

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - March 14 is known as Pi Day, and one Marquette business was celebrating.

Iron Bay Restaurant and Drinkery held a Pi Day, Social starting at exactly 3:14 p.m.

They had a wide variety of pies available for just $3.14, as well as samples from Keweenaw Coffee Works to go along with your pie.

This is the second year celebrating, and employees saw it is a fun way to merge science with dessert.

"As far as bringing in the scientific part of it, the mathematical equation with baking, you do math and science every day when you bake," said Head Baker Lorri Smith.

The festivities will move to the Iron Bay Tap Room Thursday evening with a pie and beer pairing event. This year's featured brewery is Short's Brewery from Bellaire, Michigan.
