Three Christmas performances took place at the Historic Vista Theater in downtown Negaunee this weekend.

Singer, Jeff Jennings hosted the concerts which also featured various guest-singers including kids from Lakeview School. Those kids performed a festive version of I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.

The Christmas-themed concerts highlighted dozens of Christmas classics like Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bell Rock and more.

Negaunee City Manager, Nate Heffron says proceeds from the concerts will be used to renovate the theater and annex in order to ensure the property remains what it was always intended to be, a community theater.

"We believe that this theater is a pillar of the community. And we want to make sure it stays here and that people are still able to come to a community theater, take part in live performances. We believe that's important,” Heffron announced.

You can celebrate the winter season at the Vista Theater with the Heikki Lunta Festival, January 18th.
