HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - Organizers are beginning to prepare for the 45th Annual Canal Run this summer.
The Canal Run committee held a business after hours Tuesday night at Gino's in Hancock to get the community back in the loop on what's going on with Canal Run. At the meeting attendees were treated to free food, canal run merchandise, and raffles for free canal run entries and gift cards.
A big change this year is how the canal run is structuring its business sponsorships.
"Let’s say a business wants to sponsor the race; they can do that monetarily, or if they instead want to sponsor an aide station or a water station, they can get a team from their business together to host that station," said Angela Luskin, Race Director for Canal Run.
The committee is also looking to improve the quality of their event this year by making changes based off of participant feedback from the last two years.
