Calumet man arraigned on drug, other charges following meth lab investigation
A Calumet man has been arraigned in Houghton County District Court following an investigation into a meth lab last week.
39-year-old Bryan Palosaari has been officially charged with operating a meth lab, delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, soliciting another to obtain pseudoephedrine, and child abuse 4th degree.
On February 6, detectives from UPSET executed a search warrant at a home on Caledonia Street in Calumet Township.
A meth lab was located in the basement along with a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Detectives recovered numerous components used in the manufacturing process, including pseudoephedrine. Detectives also removed 11 five-gallon buckets of waste products from the house.
At that time, UPSET was assisted by the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team, MSP Calumet Post and the Calumet Township Fire Department.
Palosaari is being held on a $10,000 bond cash/surety.
He will be back in court for a preliminary exam on March 4.
