The Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Regional Commission announced that they have received a new grant from ArtPlace America.

The announcement happened during our Business After Hours event at the Bonifas Fine Arts Center in Escanaba. CUPPAD will be receiving $460,000 over the course of the next three years. The grant will be used to promote local arts and culture across upper michigan to help increase tourism.

“This is wonderful for all of the wonderful arts and cultural institutions in our rural communities throughout the UP to work together, and collaborate, and really figure out very definitive ways how we can further economic development in the UP using arts and culture as that mechanism,” said Emilie Schada, CUPPAD.

If you're interested in getting involved you can contact CUPPAD or the Bonifas for more information.
