NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The American Cancer Society is promoting its Real Yoopers Wear Pink campaign throughout October to raise money for breast cancer research, and all cancer research.
TV6 General Manager Rick Rhoades is teaming up with the American Cancer Society to raise money for the Real Yooper Wear Pink campaign.
Amy Anderson, with the American Cancer Society, says the ACS has chosen eight community "rock stars" throughout the U.P. to challenge with raising $2,500 for the Real Yoopers Wear Pink campaign. Real Yoopers Wear Pink is the U.P.'s version of the national Real Men Wear Pink campaign.
Tv6 and FOXUP General Manager Rick Rhoades was selected for the challenge. In addition to raising $2,500, he must also wear pink every day of the month.
For his fundraiser, Rhoades thought to redesign the popular Someplace Special T-shirt with a pink flair.
Tees can be purchased for $20, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society locally. To order one, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 906-475-7373.
