MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Residents at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living Community in Marquette had a little bit of Valentine's Day fun on Friday.
The Valentine's Day Festival featured live music and goodies for all to enjoy in both the assisted care and memory support communities.
Activities like this provide great opportunities for residents to get out and be social - something that can be crucial for those suffering from dementia.
"It's a day to express love, both for each other, our loved ones, their spouses who may not be with them anymore, but also just a good chance for us to be together and have some fun," says executive director Jennifer Huetter.
Brookridge Heights throws a Valentine's celebration each year.
Organizers say this year's celebration went a little above and beyond.
