MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Brookridge Heights Assisted Living & Memory Care held their first-ever Blingo game Saturday.
Organizers say it was a huge success considering it was the first event of its kind.
The event was aimed at Brookridge Memory Care residents and local ladies whose significant others may be out at camp.
Blingo is bingo with a twist. Winners get to pick out a piece of jewelry or hair accessories.
Win or lose, Jennifer Huetter, Executive Director at Brookridge Heights says Blingo is an opportunity to showcase the steady stream of events on the calendar at the facility.
"We want folks to be able to see what Brookridge Heights is all about. We want to pass on that education. At some point, the people in this room may need assisted living for a loved one, for a family member or for their parents. So it's a good opportunity for us to showcase that, get them familiar with assisted living, have some fun and give back to the community,” Huetter announced.
Players also socialized, shared stories, enjoyed snacks and other refreshments in between games.
