ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette made a quick stop in the U.P. on Friday morning.
Schuette was at the Republican headquarters in Escanaba for a whistle stop rally for area Republican candidates.
He was joined by his running mate, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Lisa Posthumus Lyons.
The two began their day in Alpena before flying into Escanaba where they addressed a standing room only crowd.
Also in attendance were State Representave Beau Lafave and State Senate Candidate, Ed McBroom.
After speaking to the crowd, candidate Schuette said that Michiganders have one question to ask themselves.
"We're working hard to get the vote out in the Upper Peninsula because people want to have more jobs and bigger paychecks. The real question for Michigan is 'Are you better off today than you were 8 years ago?' and the answer is yes."
After leaving Escanaba, candidate Schuette was headed back downstate to a campaign stop in Traverse City
