MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - If you're still looking for a place to enjoy a meal on Christmas Day, you're in luck.
Big Boy in Marquette will be open on the holiday for its eleventh year from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.. The restaurant wants to cater to those families who want to get together and enjoy a meal, but may not want to cook.
"Everyone that works that day is a volunteer. We pay them, but they volunteer to pick up the shift and work on Christmas Day," says Steve Whelan, owner of Big Boy.
Big boy will have its full menu available and an added Christmas buffet for $14.99. It will include ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, soup, salad, and fruit bar. Big Boy also has a variety of pies and desserts that guests can order as well.
"There's so many people here that have worked here so long, we're like a family here working together. I've had people work here all 11 years since we've been open and most of them work on Christmas," Whelan says.
