BIG BAY, Mich. (WLUC) - Kirk Marjomaki, 29, is charged with controlled substance, delivery/manufacture of meth/ecstasy, and controlled substance, delivery/manufacture of narcotic/cocaine less than 50 grams.
Marjomaki is out on bond and is due back in court for a preliminary exam on May 7.
Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested a 29-year-old Big Bay man for charges relating to the distribution of crystal meth and heroin on Wednesday, April 10, on Washington Street in Marquette.
UPSET said detectives initiated the investigation several weeks ago and after his arrest Wednesday, they executed a search warrant at his residence in Big Bay.
As a result of the UPSET investigation, detectives seized approximately 43 grams of crystal meth, 12 grams of heroin, and $580 in cash. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be over $12,000.
According to UPSET, the suspect was lodged at the Marquette County Jail and his name is being withheld pending arraignment.
UPSET was assisted by Marquette City Police, Marquette City Police K-9 Scud, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office.
