Benefit Concert for Bay Cliff coming soon

BIG BAY, Mich. (WLUC) - This weekend a benefit concert will honor the memory of a Marquette woman who spent her life helping kids with special needs. The concert is in memory of the late Rebecca Treado who was a nurse for more than 30 years in Marquette.

Money raised will go to benefit Bay Cliff Health Camp, specifically scholarships for those who might not otherwise be able to afford the health camp. The concert will feature three bands, silent auction, 50-50 raffle and donations at the door.

"She did whatever she could to give them independence and make them feel like they were part of the gang and that's what I noticed from her her whole career," said Organizer Timothy Treado. "When she passed away I thought this would be a great way to honor her memory and keep her legacy going with helping the handicapped and disabled children of the U.P. and Northern Wisconsin."

The concert will be at the Lumberjack Tavern in Big Bay. It takes place this Saturday August 17 beginning at 5 p.m.
