BARAGA, Mich. (WLUC)- Bay Ambulance of L’Anse celebrated their 50th anniversary this weekend. They held an open house and cookout to mark the occasion on Saturday.
Visitors had the chance to take a tour of their facility and learn about modern emergency equipment. A Jaws of Life demonstration was also put on by the L’Anse and Baraga fire departments. As well as a blood drive with U.P. Regional Blood Center.
Employees say the volunteer organization has made an impact in their communities.
“It's huge, not only what we do responding to 911 calls but a lot of other community things like CPR and first aid training,” said Gary Wadaga, Director of Bay Ambulance Inc. “It truly is a community effort that has built this service.”
