BARAGA, Mich. (WLUC) - The county of Baraga is bringing in outside help to revamp its public image.
The county recently hired the Wisconsin based marketing company, Platypus. Platypus is in charge of a full scale rebranding for the county including creating a new logo and catchphrase. The company and the county are looking for community input for the project.
"The overriding goal of a rebranding project is to identify who our target markets are and how to market ourselves better, not just to tourists, but to entrepreneurs, people who can choose where they want to work, and prospective businesses that might want to move into our area," said Will Cronin, a Tourism and Community Development Educator from Michigan state University, who is helping oversee the project.
The project has been going on for a year and just completed phase 1 and phase 2 should take around another year.
