Baraga County man arrested for crystal meth sales

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) have arrested a Baraga County man in connection to the sale of crystal meth.

UPSET executed a search warrant at a residence on M-38 in Baraga County, where they arrested a 35-year-old man.

Two children were also in the home at the time of the arrest and were turned over to relatives.

During a search of the house, detectives seized a small amount of crystal meth, evidence of drug distribution, and $2,580 in cash.

The suspect was currently on parole and was lodged at the Baraga County Jail for a parole violation.

Additional charges for drug distribution are pending a review from the Baraga County prosecutor.

Detectives from UPSET were assisted by officers from the Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police, Michigan State Police Calumet Post, Baraga County Sheriff’s Department, L'Anse Police Department, and the Michigan State Police Calumet Post K-9 Unit.
