BARAGA COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - Second Amendment activists and supporters gathered in Baraga County Saturday for the first-ever Gun Rally.
The event was designed to bring pro-gun advocates together and give candidates a platform to discuss how they plan to protect the Second Amendment if elected.
A representative from the National Rifle Association was also in attendance and organizers say they hope it sends a message to those helping to decide America's future.
"We just want to make it clear that Yoopers are solidly pro-gun that we support the Second Amendment and that we support the right to bear arms," said Jake Putala, a co-organizer of the rally. "It's also our view that the best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
Candidates focused on what Constitutional rights they say are inherent with the Second Amendment. The event was completely free and open to the public.
