Amasa man cited in three-vehicle crash; Minor injuries reported

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - Troopers from the Michigan State Police - Iron Mountain Post responded to a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon on US-2 near the entrance to Home Depot in Iron Mountain.

Officers were called out at approximately 3:25 p.m. Trooper investigation determined a pick-up truck, driven by a 62-year-old Amasa man, was attempting to enter onto US-2 from Home Depot, when it struck an eastbound vehicle driving on US-2, driven by a 36-year-old Niagara, Wisconsin, man. This collision caused the eastbound vehicle to hit a westbound vehicle, driven by a 73-year-old man from Green Bay, Wisconsin. That westbound vehicle was waiting to turn in the center turn lane.

The Green Bay man was transported to Dickinson County Healthcare System with minor injuries.

The Amasa man was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way while leaving a private drive.

MSP Troopers were assisted by the Iron Mountain Police Department, Breitung Township Fire Department, Beacon Ambulance, Integrity Care EMS, Town and Country Towing, and L.R. Vincent Towing.
