NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - We may not all like the cold weather, but members of the U.P. Luge Club sure do. Lugers were out practicing Friday night, as this cold weather makes conditions perfect for runs. The club is once again sponsoring Negaunee's Heikki Lunta Festival, and will have special open sessions Friday, January 18, and Saturday, January 19. From 2pm to 6pm on Friday, and Noon to 5pm on Saturday, you can stop by Lucy Hill in Negaunee to try it out yourself.
“Anyone is welcome to come on down and try it out, and we usually get a good turnout,” said club member Fred Anderson. “We have plenty of workers here who can help out and make it fun.”
If you want to try luge at Heikki Lunta, it is $20 a family and $10 a person. All the money goes towards running the Luge Club.
