UPDATE: Eastbound US-41 open after a crash at new roundabout in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE: 10:38 a.m. Nov. 7
Eastbound US-41 is back open after two crashes at the new roundabout by Best Buy in Marquette Township.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, as one minor crash was being cleaned up, another vehicle ran into the back of the tow truck.

One person was taken to the hospital, but their injuries are unknown at this time.

The deputy on scene and the tow truck driver were uninjured in the collision, deputies said.

The sheriff's office said drivers need to slow down and drive with extra caution in the snowy, slippery conditions.

ORIGINAL STORY:
A crash has closed the eastbound lanes of US-41 in Marquette Township at the new roundabout by Best Buy and the Meijer gas station Thursday morning. It happened around 10 a.m. Nov. 7.

There are blizzard-like conditions making visibility low and roads slippery.

There is no official word on possible injuries.

Several police officers, a tow truck and ambulances were on scene.
