HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - A workshop in Hancock is teaching people of all ages the basics of puppetry.
The Puppet Project workshop started on Monday and has classes for everyone ranging from kindergarten to adult. The class teaches students everything from how to create your own puppets to how to use and preform with them.
Students created a variety of puppets, including a large papier-mache one, and some used as shadow puppets.
"The main goal of the project is outreach, and to provide education and to be able to share the world of puppetry with everyone," said Trish Helsel, the founder of The Puppet Project.
The week-long workshop finishes up with a free live puppet performance from all the students at Michigan tech's McArdle theater.
