Princess Parade held at Presque Isle Park

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Princesses, princes, and even some superheroes gathered at Presque Isle Park on Saturday for the 4th Annual Princess Parade to have fun and give back to the community.

The event was complete with ice cream, games, raffles, and a one mile parade. The family-fun event is hosted by “Amarah's Light”, a local organization that aims to help grieving families in the community.

Amarah's Light was created in memory of a local girl, Amarah, who passed away unexpectedly a few years ago. According to Amarah’s parents, she loved dressing up as a princess.

"We know that we're never going to stop a child from passing away, we know that's not going to happen. What we can tackle is the aftermath: the children that are left behind, behavioral counseling, marriage counseling, those types of victories so they can learn a new normal,” said Wayne Filizetti, Amarah’s father.
