HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - 31 Backpacks is looking for volunteers to help with its annual Big Pack this weekend to keep Houghton area students full and fed over Spring Break.
Organizers are planning to hand out over 5,400 meals to at-risk students across the Copper Country.
It all takes place at the Glad Tidings Lutheran Church in Hancock, at 601 Ingot St.
Events begin Thursday afternoon. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., volunteers are needed to unload the food truck from the Food Bank. Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon, they will be unloading a food truck from Louie's. Set up takes place Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Big Pack is Monday at the church from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Food will be loaded onto buses to be handed out on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
