FLORENCE, Wisc. (WLUC) - An event held at Florence High School helped those in attendance get into the holiday spirit.
The 10th annual “Christmas in Florence” event took place on Saturday. It featured over 100 crafters, selling unique winter and holiday themed items.
Santa and Miss Claus also made it to town for the event, and took some time to snap pictures with area kids. The event is put on by the Florence County Chamber of Commerce, and MBank was a sponsor for the event.
“This event pretty much started as a community gathering, trying to pull everyone together and it’s grown every year. It’s just great to bring everyone together. You see people maybe you haven’t seen in the last few months, it gets folks out of the house and get’s you in the Christmas mood,” said Wendy Gehlhoff, Florence County Economic Development Director
Florence County Sheriffs also parked a squad car near the entrance of the school. People were encouraged to “Fill the Cruiser” with non-perishable food items. The donations were brought to local food pantries.
