Things to know for the Stone Temple Pilots, Collective Soul concert in Green Bay Saturday
The Packers are treating fans to a free concert the day before the Packers’ home opener

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Packers are treating fans to a free concert by Stone Temple Pilots and Collective Soul a day before the team’s home opener.
The rock bands will perform in the northwest parking lot of Lambeau Field on Saturday, Sept. 23. Collective Soul kicks off the concert at 5 p.m., with Stone Temple Pilots taking the stage at about 6:30. The concert is expected to last 3 hours.
Parking for the concert is free in the west-side stadium parking lots. Spots will be first-come/first-serve.
Concertgoers are welcome to bring blankets and chairs, just be aware that space might be limited, based on previous free concerts.
Food and beverages can be purchased in the Lambeau Field parking lot and Packers’ Titletown. The stadium atrium businesses are open for their regular hours. Lambeau Field is cashless, so be sure to bring a credit or debit card. The stadium has cash-to-card conversion stations that will put $5 to $500 onto a prepaid Mastercard.
The celebration continues the next day when the Packers host the New Orleans Saints at noon. It will be Jordan Love’s home debut as the Packers’ starting quarterback.
Stone Temple Pilots is a San Diego band that first got noticed during the grunge scene in the 1990s. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified their debut album, Core, 8x Platinum. They’ve had 7 top 10 albums, according to Billboard magazine; 1994′s “Purple” topped the charts for 3 weeks.
Collective Soul is an alternative rock band from Atlanta. Their debut single, “Shine” won a Billboard award and was the top-selling album rock band in 1994. Their self-titled sophomore album was on the Billboard 200 for 76 weeks.
