New coffee shop and home goods store extension open in Houghton County
Owners happy to share space where customers can simultaneously sip coffee and shop
HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - It was the grand opening for a new coffee shop and home goods store extension in Houghton County.
Camp Coffee Company, which is based in L’Anse, expanded this week by opening at Grace + Gather in Downtown Houghton. On Friday afternoon, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the location, which was assisted by the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce.
Beginning in February, Grace + Gather underwent four months of renovations toward the extended space.
The owners are happy to share the space and feel it’s great for customers to sip coffee and shop at the same time.
“The girls at Grace + Gather are like, ‘We’re thinking about expanding. Would you ever want to expand and open up a cafe?,’” said Camp Coffee owner Allison Koskinen. “Ultimately, that was my dream. I didn’t think it would happen within months of opening our first location. But, the space was perfect, and we’re able to renovate it exactly how we wanted.”
“We always talked about opening up a coffee shop, and we got connected with Camp Coffee,” said Grace + Gather co-owner Asia Raasio. “Everything lined up and worked out perfectly that she was able to share the space with us. We are just so excited to welcome her.”
Both stores appreciate the community’s support.
Grace + Gather is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p-m, while Camp Coffee is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
People though, can get coffee until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12th as the shop celebrates the end of its grand opening.
