Portion of Marquette’s College Avenue to close for reconstruction beginning Monday

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Work begins Monday on a stretch of College Avenue in Marquette.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. June 14, College Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Presque Isle Avenue and Third Street. Work on this section of roadway is expected to last four weeks. A detour route will be provided.

The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour, and advisory signing.

Project plans can be accessed at the City of Marquette Engineering website under the Hewitt Ave., Pine St., Front St., College Ave., Project link.

Smith Construction is the general contractor for this project.

The City of Marquette asks for patience during the construction process.
