NMU preparing to return to full in-person operations
School plans to return to pre-pandemic functions on June 15th
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Northern Michigan University is preparing to return to full in-person instruction and campus living.
On June 15th, the school plans to have all parts of campus resume pre-pandemic operations. That includes the lifting of restrictions on visitors.
In addition, unless an announcement is made, those who are not fully vaccinated are asked to continue complying with the MDHHS mask order inside any NMU facility until July 1st.
The classrooms are also returning to normal for the start of the fall semester.
‘We are resetting the classrooms, and our occupancy levels will go back up,” said NMU spokesperson Derek Hall. “Any precautions that we’ll have to take, we still have to see.”
The school is also offering a $100 incentive for students who show they are fully vaccinated. That money will go towards their students cards to spend on campus dining. The deadline for that is July 1st.
