Missing Dickinson County 3-year-old found safe near woods

Eleanor Gendron’s father, 41-year-old Brent Gendron realized she was missing Tuesday, around 1:36 p.m. central time and immediately notified law enforcement.

BREEN TWP, Mich. (WLUC) - 3-year-old Eleanor Gendron is home safe, after wandering off while playing with the families two dogs, near Cazzola Road in Breen Township, in Dickinson County.

According to the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, the girl’s father, 41-year-old Brent Gendron realized she was missing Tuesday around 1:36 p.m. central time. He immediately notified law enforcement. Iron Mountain troopers responded to the report, along with numerous agencies and a MSP K-9 handler, to begin a search.

After about two and a half hours after going missing, Eleanor and her dogs were discovered by searchers, walking out of the woods onto a nearby road. Troopers said she was uninjured and in good health. She was examined by Nordic Ambulance personal and returned to her family.

Assisting at the scene were Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office, Breen Township Fire Department, Nordic Ambulance and MSP Gladstone.
