MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette City Band is preparing for their first show of the season coming this Thursday June 10. Tuesday night the band met for rehearsal at the Presque Isle Band Shell.

The theme this year is ‘When Music Matters Most.’ The upcoming show will feature classical marches, a medley from a Broadway show and even a Dixieland piece.

“We’ve been rehearsing now for a few weeks and it would be wonderful for everyone to come out and enjoy live music in a beautiful park and with a wonderful band, we’re looking forward to performing,” said Marquette City Band Conductor, Dr. Steve Grugin.

The show this Thursday is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Presque Isle Band Shell. Future shows will be held on Thursdays and include one more in June, Three in July and the final show in August.
