A break before more storms to end the week

The heat and humidity continue across most of the area through Friday. Today lake breezes could trigger a few isolated showers. Then, a system approaches tomorrow bringing a weakening line of thunderstorms to the western counties early in the morning. More storms will develop during the afternoon and again for Friday as this system moves through.

Today: Morning patchy fog, mostly sunny with isolated showers west

>Highs: 70s along the Great Lakes, mid to upper 80s inland

Thursday: Solar eclipse partially visible around sunrise. Then, sun/clouds

>Highs: 70s along the shorelines, mid to upper 80s

Friday: Partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms

>Highs: Mainly 70s

Saturday: Morning showers with clouds clearing by the afternoon

>Highs: 70s to low 80s

Sunday: Mostly sunny and seasonal

>Highs: 70s along the shorelines, low 80s inland

Monday: Partly cloudy and cooler

>Highs: 60s in the north, 70s south

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and cooler

>Highs: Around 70°
