Northern Michigan University releases Cross Country schedule

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Northern Michigan University women’s cross country team and head coach Jenny Ryan have announced their 2021 schedule which features four regular-season meets before the beginning of the championship season.

The season begins at the Northwood Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 11, hosted by GLIAC member Northwood University. The Wildcats placed second at the event in 2019.

NMU heads to Wisconsin the next week for the UW-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invite, which takes place on Saturday, September 18.

The next meet for the Wildcats is Friday, September 24, at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. NMU was 7th out of 32 teams in the 2019 edition of the race.

The Wildcats conclude the 2021 regular season at the Conference Crossover, hosted by Lewis University, on Saturday, October 9. The meet is traditionally the largest regular-season event of the year for NMU.

Championship season is kicked off with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Saginaw Valley State University. The meet is set for Saturday, October 23.

The NCAA Regionals will take place in Evansville, Ind., hosted by the University of Southern Indiana. The regional will take place Saturday, November 6.
